Christmas Lunch - Cards & Games group

October 15, 2017

It was a beautiful sunny day - but club members all crowded into the clubhouse anyway for a very productive meeting.

- Members voted to ratify the updated Constitution & By Laws, enabling a successful transition to the new BC Societies Act, satisfying all provisions of the Act.

- Members voted by acclamation to accept the nominees for the 2018 Executive Committee.  (See the updated EXECUTIVE tab on this website)

- Club Directors & Officers reported on this season's activities, & there was lively discussion of future initiatives & projects.

- The Club is seeking individuals, couples, or groups to volunteer as FUN NIGHT coordinators for next season.  Please give it your careful consideration, as volunteers are always needed to make things happen.  Where would we be without our great volunteers ?

Thanks everyone for a great season - let's hope for a little less snow on the green this winter !!

The 2017 season was very successful, but all good things must come to an end.  Now it's time to give the green a well deserved rest, polish up your bowls, and prepare for another great season ahead.  Please contact our Membership Director, Flo Hurtubise, if you are not planning to renew your membership for 2018, or are interested in giving lawn bowling a try in April.  Give Flo a call at 604-945-2768.

See you in the SPRING  !!

Lawn bowlers were very busy for three days at the Polson Park lawn bowling green, as the 55+ Games came back to where it all began 30 years ago - VERNON BC.   Everyone had a good time as Vernon did a very good job of organizing the Games & being the Host city for 2017.  The members of our Club who participated all did very well.

Men's Singles Tournament

September 04, 2017

A record setting day for heat, & a full slate of bowlers battling it out on the green in this Mixed Triples event. Thank you to our Games Coordinator, Helen LeCounte, for adjusting the format from four 10-enders to four 8-enders. Not sure many could make it through a 40-end day in that heat.  Shade umbrellas, water coolers, misters, frozen neck wraps ... all came into play on this scorcher of a day.  We made it through & had a ball.

Congratulations to all the winners:

1st -  Vlad Furst / Helen LeCounte / Tony Stariha

2nd - William Ritchie / Sherilyn Leggett / Pat MacMillan with Gary Korstrom

3rd - Alan Tracey / Francesco Cuglietta / Lauretta McArthur

4th - Denis Sigfusson / Darlene Fenske / Amy Cheung

5th - Jean Wagstaff / Mladen Bosnjak / Mike Judd

Well Done Everyone !!
